Pengerusi SPR Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof berkata daftar

Meanwhile, in a hope to prevent more by-elections, Abdul Aziz pleaded with political parties to field candidates of sound health. Acknowledging that accidents cannot be prevented, he however quipped: "I hope that there will be no more deaths of elected representatives."

He also revealed that the EC spends about RM400,000 for every by-election.

He is paid to do the job. So do it as you are asked. But dont play God please............

BN no better than communists, says Nik Aziz......

PAS spiritual leader Datuk Seri Nik Abdul Aziz joined an all-star ceramah session last night as Pakatan Rakyat stepped up efforts to wrap up the by-election and bag the win.

Nik Aziz went straight for the Barisan Nasional (BN) jugular and mocked prime minister and BN president Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s decision not to allow former communist leader Chin Peng to return to Malaysia, describing it as hypocritical.

“Chin Peng wants to come back and somebody asked me what I thought about it so I said if BN wants to reject the communists, then the same can be said about nationalists,” he said.

The statement was made in reference to his belief and past statement that Umno should replace its nationalist trait with Islam as the main ideology. Nik Aziz, who vehemently opposes the “cooperation with Umno” idea supported by some of his own party members, had stated in the past that the Islamist party will only work together with its rival if the latter discards its nationalist ideology.

But judging by how the charismatic PAS leader pounded BN last night, this “cooperation” is a long way off.

BN was accused of total evil, reigning with treachery, manipulation and corruption. He urged Penanti voters to rise against the BN rule and vote for PKR candidate Mansor Othman this Sunday.

The other big names at the ceramah were Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who also asked voters to send a strong signal to BN.

He also blasted BN for their decision to contest in Manek Urai, slamming the decision as a reflection of their arrogance and hypocrisy.

“When they did not want to contest at Penanti, they said they wanted to focus on improving the country’s economy and not play the political game supposedly created by me.

“But it seems that the economy of the country, in fact the world, has been solved since BN now has the time to contest there,” he said.

The Manek Urai by-election in Kelantan will be the seventh since the March 8 polls. The state seat was vacated following the death of its assemblyman, Ismail Yaakob.

N12 Penanti - Aminah Dollah's conspiracy theory...............

The two PKR members involved in a secret recording made by Aminah Abdullah, an independent candidate for the Penanti state by-election, have categorically denied making any offers to her.

Cheah Kah Peng and Peter Lim Eng Nam said they did not offer Aminah the post of deputy chief minister (I) or Penang Island Municipal Council (MPPP) president, and had never tried to bribe her with money.

Cheah is a PKR supreme council member, and Lim the special assistant to Penang state executive councillor Law Choo Kiang.

"We were invited by Aminah for lunch at her house. We just had a jovial, casual conversation with them (Aminah and her husband Mohd Rofi Osman)," Cheah told a press conference at the PKR operations centre here today.

"We did not know that she would turn a bona fide chit-chat into a ugly thing."

Cheah said they had visited the family as friends and they not represent any organisation. He said the recording was taken out of context, as they were conversing as "normal friends, talking about everything under the sun".

He said he and Lim have been friends with Animah and her family since 1999 and maintained ties with them even after she left the party in 2007.

They had been to Aminah's house on several occasions, including during Hari Raya Puasa, and the engagement of one of her daughters in March.

Lim lamented that Aminah has exploited their relations for her personal gains.

"I feel hurt," he said, adding that they would leave the matter in the hands of the party's lawyers.

Meanwhile, PKR elections director Saifuddin Nasution said the party has sent a legal notice to Aminah.

"The letter was sent to stop her from defaming the party for her personal gains, in this case as an independent candidate in the by-election," he said.

In the legal notice, Aminah is told either withdraw the statement, apologise or pay damages.

"From what we have heard, it is a conversation between friends who met over a meal," Saifuddin said of the recording.

"It was a jovial occasion ... Aminah seemed like she wanted to rejoin the party and wanted one of her friends to convey the message to our leaders."

Nizar & PR - Jangan buat rayuan lagi, biarlah mahkamah rakyat tentukan.........

3 hakim mahkamah rayuan yang bersidang tempoh hari telah mengistiharkan Zambri MB Perak yang sah berdasarkan kepada perkara-perkara berikut;

The higher you go up the court hierarchy, the worst it will become. If Pakatan Raykat appeals the case to the Federal Court, it is a forgone conclusion that they will lose. It is already evident that only in the High Court and the magistrate court could PR stand an even chance.

How do you think that they have got to sit in that position in the Apex courts? Apart from the known recommendation by Mr. Correct,Correct,Correct, they are also promoted because they are in line with the powers that be. It cannot be more obvious that the head of the judiciary was previously an UMNO diehard.

So, Nizar and PR please dont appeal..........

The power struggle in Perak.............

Practising in Perak for Federal battle to come........

When three legislators in Perak, one of five of opposition-ruled Malaysian states, switched sides in February, overturning a narrow majority in the 59-seat assembly, the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) was cock-a-hoop. After a big electoral setback last year, the long-dominant UMNO was at last taking the fight to the opposition, led by its nemesis, Anwar Ibrahim, a former deputy prime minister. Loyalists credited the defections, reportedly induced by the threat of corruption probes, to the bare-knuckle tactics of Najib Razak, since sworn in as prime minister in place of the mild-mannered Abdullah Badawi. Taking back Perak was just the start, UMNO snarled.

Perak was indeed the start of something, but not the rollback of Malaysia’s opposition, as foreseen by UMNO and its ruling coalition partners. Instead it has snowballed into a constitutional crisis that reveals the wobbly underpinnings of a democracy yet to be tested by a handover of power at the federal level. On May 7th, amid scuffles at Perak’s parliament, UMNO’s man was installed as chief minister. Scores of people were arrested, including the speaker of the house, who was bundled away by plainclothes police. He had objected to the takeover as it had never been put to a vote in the assembly.

On May 11th it was the opposition’s turn to crow. The High Court ruled that its man, Nizar Jamaluddin, was still the chief minister of Perak as his removal in February was illegal. He had been removed not, as is usual in parliamentary systems, by his elected peers but by Perak’s sultan, one of Malaysia’s hereditary state rulers. Sultan Azlan Shah had sealed the controversial takeover on February 5th, ignoring an appeal from Mr Jamaluddin to dissolve the house and hold snap elections.

The opposition’s euphoria was short-lived. The next day UMNO successfully obtained a stay from an appeals court against the reinstatement of Mr Jamaluddin. That decision allowed Zambry Kadir, UMNO’s candidate, to return on May 13th as caretaker chief minister. Grotesquely, in a blog posting, Mr Kadir likened his grubby power play to the struggles of Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi.

A fast-track deliberation by the appeals court should resolve the case in the next week or so. But the political fallout is much harder to fix. Should the obstreperous assembly reconvene, more scuffles are likely, says James Chin, a political scientist at Monash University’s campus in Kuala Lumpur. One way out, it seems, is to hold fresh elections in Perak. Yet that is exactly what UMNO fears most after a run of embarrassing defeats in state and federal polls. Ministers complain that by-elections are a waste of public money. In the case of Perak, the legal and legislative routes have not been exhausted, argues Khairy Jamaluddin (no relation), a senior UMNO official.

The opposition is expected to win again in Perak, as it did in March 2008 in an election that saw the UMNO-led National Front lose its cherished two-thirds majority in parliament. Mr Anwar subsequently sought to persuade 30 ruling MPs to cross the floor, the same tactic used in Perak. His advisers argued that this was justified as he planned to dissolve the house and return power to the people, betting on victory. In the end, Mr Anwar’s carrot went unbitten. But it dangles still, and UMNO knows it.

The bigger question posed by the proxy war in Perak is what happens if the levers of federal power should one day slip from UMNO’s hands, as has seemed inevitable since last year’s election. Entrenched political elites rarely go quietly. A politicised civil service and security apparatus might resist an opposition victory, and look to the judiciary and, possibly, the sultans for support. Mr Anwar knows this, and is courting power-brokers in the system. But the danger of civil unrest should not be dismissed lightly. That is particularly true if UMNO decides to play on tensions between Malaysia’s majority Malays and its ethnic-Chinese and Indian minorities.

Until the Perak storm broke, Mr Najib had been steering a mildly reformist course. A handful of political prisoners have been freed, including ethnic Indians jailed after rowdy anti-government protests in 2007. Regulations on Islamic banking and insurance, and on local-ownership restrictions in selected service sectors were liberalised. But the core grievances of non-Malays over statutory privileges for the Malays remain. These privileges, staunchly defended by UMNO, were introduced in 1971, two years after deadly race riots in Kuala Lumpur. The riots began after UMNO suffered election losses to Chinese-based opposition parties. The date, by coincidence, was May 13th 1969.

N12 Penanti - 4 cornered fight minus UMNO/BN.............

Its a 4 cornered fight for Penanti by-election on 31 May 2009. The candidates were PKR's Mansor Othman and three independents - former Penang PKR Wanita chief Aminah Abdullah, company manager Nai-Khan Ari, 41, and motivational expert Kamarul Ramizu Idris, 42. Returning officer Roslan Yahaya announced this at noon today. Nomination papers from independent businessman Mohd Saberi Othman, 49, were not accepted.

Earlier, Mohd Saberi had joined the other four candidates in filing his nomination papers at the Youth Skills Development Institute here. Six objections were raised during the objection period, including one against Kamarul's proposer, who is said to be not from Penanti. Kamarul has stood as an independent and lost in the Bukit Gantang parliamentary against by-election.

The nomination process for the Penanti by-election was quieter than the other polls held previously. Although some Pakatan Rakyat supporters have turned up at the nomination centre at the Youth Skills Development Institute here today, there was no taunting and shouting that have marred other by-elections. However, the police were not taking any chance. A police helicopter was spotted circling above the area while some 300 personnel have been mobilised to keep watch over the crowds.

The earliest to arrive today was Aminah, who came to the centre at 7.45am. She was followed by Mohd Saberi and Nai-Kan, then Mansor. Many of the Pakatan Rakyat leaders have turned up at the centre to give their support to Mansor. Barisan Nasional has decided on May 18 to sit out on the by-election.

According to the 2008 electoral roll that was updated on April 16, the seat has a total of 15,384 registered voters, including 24 postal voters. The electorate comprises 72.68% Malays, 24.22% Chinese, 2.39% Indians and 0.71% others.

Lets give PKR and Pakatan a big win to convey everyone’s anger and frustration over the Perak crisis.

Insyallah.

cheers.

Elak Penanti,pertahankan Perak...........

"Both sides must respect the process of law so that we will not create any confusion which will affect the public order."

LTTE says their leader is alive and well...........

Sri Lanka's Tamil Tigers denied that their leader Velupillai Prabhakaran had been killed by the military, insisting that the rebel chief was alive and well.

"Our beloved leader is alive and safe. He will continue to lead the quest for dignity and freedom for the Tamil people," the Tigers' chief of international relations, Selvarasa Pathmanathan, said in a statement carried on the pro-rebel Tamilnet website.

If so, whose dead body is this?

Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam(LTTE) supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran was on Monday shot dead by Sri Lankan special forces as he tried to stage a dramatic breakout from the army encirclement, a military spokesman said.

Penantian PR di Penanti tamat, pasai UMNO tak berani.......

On the Perak impasse, Najib said BN will respect the process of law as the opposition had also brought the case to court to make the final decision on the status of the state government. Asked whether BN will engage the opposition to discuss the impasse as they had expressed willingness to talk, he said the coalition has yet to fix a time to meet.

"Both sides must respect the process of law so that we will not create any confusion which will affect the public order."

Nampaknya pelawaan Najib hanya sekadar hangat-hangat tahi ayam saja.................

source:mStar online

Time for Nazri,Najib,Mahathir and UMNO to wake up...........

Wow........ adil betul mahkamah Malaysia!

Kepada Cikgu-cikgu budiman................

SELAMAT HARI GURU

cheers.
