Kpg. Buah Pala - Hindraf barking at the wrong tree...........

Lim Guan Eng's answer to the Kampung Buah Pala standoff.........

Hindraf Must Wake Up And Realise That Kampung Buah Pala Is Still Standing Today Because The Penang Pakatan Rakyat State Government Had Successfully Prevented Them From Been Evicted In The Middle Of Last Year. The Penang Pakatan Rakyat state government has never consented nor approved any demolition of Kampung Buah Pala. Any action taken is by the private developer via a court order issued by the relevant courts. Up to RM 200,000 per family was offered by the developer to the residents which was accepted by many families but not by those remaining in Kampung Buah Pala. The state government respected the decision of those remaining in Kampung Buah Pala to reject any compensation offer and to fight it out in courts.

If the state government had not been sympathetic to the plight of the residents, then the developer would have evicted the residents in the middle of last year when a court order was obtained. Only the determined preventive efforts by Penang DCM2 Professor P Ramasamy and Penang State EXCO Abdul Malek stopped the developer from entering the village with bulldozers several times last year. All parties must therefore realise that it is only because of the efforts of the present Pakatan Rakyat state government that the Kampung Buah Pala residents are still living there. Koh Tsu Koon Owes The Public A Full Explanation Why He Sold The Kampung Buah Pala At A Cheap Price Of Only RM 10 Per Square Feet In 2007 And Without consulting the residents.

The state government land of Kampung Buah Pala was approved to Koperasi Pegawai Kerajaan Pulau Pinang twice by the BN Penang state EXCO led by Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon on 18.8.2004 and 8.6.2005 with a premium of RM 6.42 million or RM 20 per square feet. I can not understand neither the rationale of approving this project without consulting the residents nor selling it at such a low price.

Worse Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon’s EXCO reduced the premium further by 50% to RM 3.21 million or only RM 10 per square feet on the recommendation of the UMNO Deputy Chief Minister. Koh Tsu Koon owes the public a full explanation why he sold Kampung Buah Pala at a cheap price of only RM 10 per square feet in 2007 when the market price in this prime area is many times over and without consulting the residents.

The Penang State Government Should Not Be Unfairly Victimised And Targeted By Hindraf For Helping The Kampung Buah Pala Residents.

It is BN, Gerakan, MIC, UMNO & MCA that are the main culprits for causing, abandoning and even selling out Kampung Buah Pala residents. The Penang state government regrets the highly irresponsible and irrational actions of Hindraf in targeting the Penang state government over the actions taken by the developer to evict residents in Kampung Buah Pala. Hindraf wants the state government to act against the court order obtained by the developer to evict the residents. This the state government can not do as Pakatan Rakyat governs under the rule of law and is compelled to respect any court order issued.

On the other hand, there have been suggestions that the Penang state government forcibly acquires the land under for a public purpose under the Land Acquisition Act. Doing so would play into the hands into the developer who would be able to reap enormous profits without putting in a single cent. Much as the Penang state government would wish to do, cancelling the project and forcibly acquiring the land would incur costs beyond the financial capability of the state government. We are NOT talking about millions of ringgit or tens of millions of ringgit here!

Clearly Hindraf is unable to distinguish who its friends are by likening such actions to UMNO’s tearing down of Hindu temple. And yet Hindraf does not organise nation-wide protests for the recent tearing down Hindu temples in Kuala Lumpur. The Penang state government should not be unfairly victimised or targeted by Hindraf when we have assisted the residents and also not involved with the tearing down of any Hindu temple in Penang. Why is Hindraf not demonstrating against UMNO or Gerakan or MCA or even MIC who are the main culprits and perpetrators behind Kampung Buah Pala? This begs the question whether Hindraf has now been infiltrated by collaborators of MIC and BN when it should be demonstrating against those who demolish temples and not the Penang state government seeking a fair deal for the Kampung Buah Pala villagers.

Hindraf should realise what the Penang state government has done for the Indian community, temples and Tamil primary schools. Not only was the first Indian Deputy Chief Minister II of Penang appointed but the 28 Tamil primary schools were given a yearly allocation of RM 1.5 million along with other Chinese primary, Sekolah Agama Rakyat, missionary schools and Chinese independent secondary schools. Further Penang put up the FIRST Tamil road signs in the country alongside with Arabic, Chinese and English bilingual road signs in Georgetown. Even Hindraf never even raised the issue of Tamil road signs. By going against the Penang state government, Hindraf is indirectly helping UMNO and BN and putting all the achievements made by the Penang state government at risk. There will be no Indian DCM2, no yearly allocation of funds to Tamil primary schools and no more Tamil road signs or bilingual road signs. Hindraf should use reason not emotions of rage or anger and think again who are the real opponents and the real friends of the Indian community.

Most important of all, the Penang state government treats all Indians together with Chinese and Malays as Malaysian citizens, where a Chinese leader can look after Malays a Malay leader can look after Chinese and an Indian leader can look after all citizens. DAP and the Pakatan Rakyat government will not back down or be cowed by BN, UMNO or Hindraf who continues to look at problems from a narrow racial spectrum of Chinese, Indian of Malays. DAP and the Penang Pakatan Rakyat government believes that the issues of Indians are not Indian problems, the issues of Chinese are not Chinese problems nor the issues of Malays not Malay problems but a Malaysian issue.

We should be uniting together as Malaysians around the principles of justice, truth, freedom, democracy and welfare of the people to ensure that we fight corruption to both generate growth and prosperity as well as ensure that everyone shares equitably. However despite regretting the unwarranted targeting of the Penang state government, Hindraf leaders have the right to exercise the basic human rights of peaceful assembly by demonstrating no matter how unreasonable they are. I have instructed my officials to respect their rights and accept any memorandum submitted in line with non-violent principles of Mahatma Gandhi that, “violence begets violence, an eye for any eye would leave everyone blind.” I also urge the police not to take any action that would lead to untoward actions.

The state government will also not be affected by the actions of the residents in suddenly turning against the state government despite all the assistance offered. The state government will continue to assist the remaining residents of Kampung Buah Pala, including if the residents so wish, that the developer of Kampung Buah Pala continues with its offer of up to RM 200,000 compensation per registered family to the residents. The state government has also not given any consent or agreement to the developer to demolish any buildings as the developer is acting on his own under the court order from the High Court and Federal Court.

Hindraf should back-off from standing against the Penang state govt. Instead they should look for Koh Tsu Khoon and his goons who sealed the deal.

Koh Tsu Khoon is a minister in Najib's gomen and he caused the damage and he must be the one who should repair it.

Is Hindraf barking at the wrong tree...........

MPSP PKR councillor sacked............

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) whip Johari Kassim, who led a boycott of the swearing-in of Mokhtar Mohd Jait as Seberang Perai Municipal Council (MPSP) president earlier this month, has been sacked from his MPSP councillor post.State executive council for local government and traffic management Chow Kon Yeow said the state executive council made the decision at its meeting last Friday and it was effective from today.

The decision was made in accordance with Section 10 (4) of the Local Government Act 1976 which stated that the councillor's seat is to be vacated if his appointment was revoked by the state authorities or if he resigned from the post of if there was a conflict of interest that disqualified him from holding the post.

Chow said the decision represented a stern warning from the state government. "All other councillors should take note of this action and know that the state government is serious."

Johari had organised a boycott of the swearing-in of former North Seberang Prai district officer Mokhtar as MPSP president early this month.

Chow said no action will be taken against the other PKR councillors who joined the boycott as removing Johari served as "a good enough warning". He added that the decision was reached by the state exco after discussions between Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and state PKR chairman Zahrain Mohamed Hashim on the issue.

Johari will not be able to appeal against the decision as there are no provisions for this under the Local Government Act. When contacted, Johari said he had met with Zahrain on Saturday and there was no mention of this decision at all. He said he was appointed by PKR and the ultimate decision to revoke his post should be made by PKR and not DAP or the state government.

In an immediate response, Chow only replied: "Then he should ask PKR to re-appoint him,"

About two weeks ago, Penang PKR deputy chairman and Penang Deputy Chief Minister I Mansor Othman had hinted that action will be taken against Johari for organising the boycott. Zahrain said Johari should not have been sacked, reasoning that the disagreement between Johari and Lim was a political issue, and not an administrative one.

He said the party will write to Lim to review the decision and hoped to have a meeting with him soon.

Ezam nak masuk PAS pula...............

Mohamad Ezam Mohd.

"Ya, PAS kuat, ya PAS kuat, kena ditunggang DAP," katanya lagi.

Tunggu komen Nasharuddin Mat Isa pula.............

No more Indonesian maids................

Indonesia ordered employment agencies to stop sending its citizens to Malaysia to work as maids following a flood of complaints from domestic workers that their employers abused them, a government minister said Thursday. The measure will take effect Friday and remain in place until safeguards are implemented in Malaysia, Indonesian Manpower Minister Erman Suparno said after meeting officials from three other Indonesian ministries in the capital, Jakarta.

High-level talks will be held July 15 with Malaysian counterparts to seek a resolution, he said. More than 300,000 Indonesian women work as maids in Malaysia. Around 3,000 new maids head for Malaysia every month, most of them placed through specialized employment agencies, the Manpower Ministry said. Maids file up to 150 complaints every month with authorities in Indonesia, alleging ill treatment, overwork, unpaid salaries and physical abuse in Malaysia.

Malaysian Home Minister Hishamuddin Hussein said Wednesday that his country may have to look elsewhere "to fill the country's needs."

"If their maids were not allowed to work here, then in the spirit of neighborliness, we will respect their decision," The Star quoted him as saying.

The latest case to gain media attention involved a 33-year-old Indonesian maid who escaped this month, claiming she was scalded with hot water and beaten.

Police detained her Malaysian employer, who faces up to 20 years in jail and a fine or whipping is convicted in court of causing grievous hurt.

"We want to protect our migrant workers from contract violations and physical abuse," Suparno told reporters after the meeting.

Billie Jean MJ is dead.............

Michael Jackson, the sensationally gifted child star who rose to become the "King of Pop" and the biggest celebrity in the world only to fall from his throne in a freakish series of scandals, died Thursday. He was 50.

Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Ed Winter, the assistant chief coroner for Los Angeles County, confirmed his office had been notified of the death and would handle the investigation. The circumstances of Jackson's death were not immediately clear. Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m., Capt. Steve Ruda told the Los Angeles Times. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told the newspaper.

Jackson's death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music's premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

Known as the “King of Pop,” for hits that included “Thriller” and “Billie Jean,” Jackson’s dramatic, one-gloved stage presence and innovative dance moves were imitated by legions of fans around the world. His 1982 album "Thriller" — which included the blockbuster hits "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" — remains the biggest-selling album of all time, with more than 100 million copies worldwide.

He transformed music videos and his lifetime record sales tally is believed to be around 750 million, which, added to the 13 Grammy Awards he received, made him one of the most successful entertainers of all time.

Michael became a Muslim last year.

Anwar, ready to be jailed............

Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said Thursday he is prepared to be jailed for sodomy in a trial next month, but warned his conviction could unleash a groundswell of public support to rout the government in the next elections.

Anwar denies the charge and said he does not expect a fair trial. It's the second time in his political career that he has been charged with sodomy. Both cases have been politically motivated to stop him from challenging the people in power, he said. But just like the first case, "there will be a huge outcry here and internationally," Anwar told The Associated Press.

"The worst-case scenario for me personally would be great for the opposition and the worst-case scenario for the government" in the next elections in 2013, he said.

Anwar, 61, was charged last August with sodomizing a 23-year-old male former aide, Saiful Bukhari Azlan. Sodomy, a crime in this Muslim-majority country, is punishable by up to 20 years in jail even if it is consensual.

The trial starts July 8 and is seen as a test of credibility for Malaysia's judiciary, which has been tainted by allegations that many judges are corrupt and easily influenced by the government. The trial will also reflect on new Prime Minister Najib Razak's promises to create a more open and free society.

"My chances, given a free fair trial, are 100 percent, but under the current circumstances the chances go down fast," Anwar said. "Nobody likes to go to jail, but I will do it if forced to ... and hopefully (come) out like a hero."

He said a government hospital's July 13 medical report of a rectal examination of Saiful found no evidence of anal penetration. He also claimed that his defense team has evidence to show that he was framed and that Saiful has become exceedingly wealthy in recent months. He implied Saiful was bribed by the government.

The government denies it is persecuting Anwar, and says it has nothing to do with what it describes as a personal case between two individuals.

Anwar, a former deputy prime minister, spent six years in prison after being convicted of corruption and sodomy following his ouster from the Cabinet in 1998. His arrest led to weeks of massive anti-government protests, and support for the ruling National Front coalition fell drastically in general elections the following year, even though it returned to power.

After emerging from jail in 2004 when the sodomy conviction was overturned, Anwar formed an unusual three-party opposition alliance that won more than one-third of Parliament seats in the 2008 elections.

It was the first time Malaysia's opposition parties had formed an alliance cutting across racial lines. Anwar brought them together by tapping into the anti-government resentment not only among the minority Chinese and Indians but also the majority Malays.

Anwar said his alliance will surely win the next elections, due in 2013, if he goes to jail.

"If (Prime Minister) Najib pursues this, he is making a big blunder. It will continue to haunt him for the rest of his life," he said. "They can control the judiciary, the media, the police but they cannot control public opinion."

Still, Anwar said, the alliance has taken into account the possibility of him going to jail, which would bar him from contesting elections for five years after he has served his sentence.

The three parties are holding "elaborate sessions" on who would lead the alliance into next elections, Anwar said.

"This time, we are prepared for everything," he said.

Slimy Najib just keen on unity government............

PM Najib Abdul Razak said many people, especially those from the Malay NGOs, are disappointed that unity talks between Umno and PAS have failed to materialise.

"It looks like many Muslims are of the same opinion because unity and efforts to fight for Islam are an obligation," he told reporters today.

"When we follow the obligation, we get blessings for whatever we do. If Islam promotes that, then we should follow its way. Don't let politics (political differences) become the obstacle (against) achieving this."

He stressed that he is still open to the idea of holding unity talks with PAS as this is "beyond politics" and "a question of our own importance". He also rejected remarks by several PAS leaders that the proposed unity talks are a Umno conspiracy to cause problems for PAS and Pakatan Rakyat.

"They (PAS) were the ones who came up with the idea of (the unity government, so) why are they accusing us now?" asked Najib. He also said that the decision by PAS to reject the unity talks did not reflect the wishes of the whole party, but of some leaders only.

Pakatan Rakyat leaders rejected Umno's unity government proposal, and proclaimed all issues surrounding the fiasco which brought the fledgling opposition coalition on the brink of collapse resolved.

Anwar Ibrahim, said the alliance of PAS, PKR and DAP would focus on their preparation for the next general election and a potential takeover of the federal government.

source:malaysiakini

Mahyuddin Yassin said don't understimate BN,which literally meant BN can win next general election. So why is Najib still keen on unity government? Unless he hiding something under his pants.

Najib also talk about religious duty and muslim brotherhood. Sejak bila Najib ingat pasal tanggungjawab agama? Under Pakatan the Malays has never been more united. It is UMNO who is splitting the Malays.

UMNO mahu kuasa majoriti 2/3 sebenarnya, bukan kerajaan perpaduan..........

Antaranya,

a. Perpaduan orang-orang Melayu.

Said,"Sabah Umno Youth must play a vital role in ensuring that Sabah remained Barisan Nasional's (BN) "fixed deposit" assets".

Polis bersenjata M16. Kawasan ditutup."Serang pengganas? Tidak. Kerana majlis makan malam DAP," tulisnya.

Sodomy Conspirators - 11 years later............

Here is an extract from Kenny Gan's article,"The Sodomy Conspirators:Hoisted by their own petard" that is worth sharing with........

The Facts of the Case

Whatever has been revealed in the public domain on sodomy II only serves to give the public the impression that this is nothing more than another politically motivated prosecution. In the first place, the charge itself does not inspire confidence given that homosexuality is not actively prosecuted in Malaysia although outlawed in the statute books. Nobody has been prosecuted under this archaic law except for Anwar in 1998

The fact that the accuser, Saiful is a known Umno sympathizer does not help matters. His demeanour when he appeared in public smiling and waving to the press is certainly not typical of one who has been forcibly sodomized as he alleged. Revelations that the he has met with top government officers including Datuk Seri Najib who was DPM at the time (purportedly for career guidance) and a senior police officer at the Concorde Hotel in Shah Alam before he made his accusation public have raised eyebrows and deservedly so.

There are also elements in his story which strains credibility like having been sodomized seven times before he made his poice report, waiting 3 days from the last act to do so and his insistence that he was sodomized against his will by a 61-year old man who is physically no match for him. But the top was blown off the case by a doctor from Pusrawi Medical Centre from whom Saiful sought a medical examination. This good doctor recorded plainly that the alleged victim had never been sodomized. Despite this, the Attorney-General saw fit to ram through a charge of consensual sodomy despite the main witness insisting to all and sundry that it had happened against his will.

Sodomy II Goes to Trial

It should be emphasized that the case must be proven beyond reasonable doubt - not in Umno’s court which is already low in public credibility - but in the court of public opinion if the ruling party does not wish to suffer a terrible backlash. The fact is that real cases of rape or sexual abuse are notoriously difficult to prove, what more a fabricated one.The public will not be impressed by circumstantial evidence or DNA evidence and the latter would be immediately assumed to be faked given the low credibility of the police and the fact that such chicanery has been attempted before in sodomy I.

Nothing short of a video capturing the act will be convincing enough but if such a video exists, the government would have broadcasted it on all the TV channels, uploaded it online and produced a million CDs for distribution to stop Anwar from making a comeback in Permatang Pauh. If the prosecution has any real proof, they could have obtained a conviction from any judge - even from the fair-minded Justice Komathy Suppiah in the Sessions Court under which the case was originally heard - instead of fighting tooth and nail to transfer it to the High Court as if their whole case depends on the judge who hears it.

Attack and Defense

What are Anwar’s chances of escaping a conviction? Apparently not good if the court proceedings of sodomy I are any guideline. The public release by Anwar’s lawyers of Hospital KL’s report that the accuser has no evidence of being sodomized, which corroborates the Pusrawi Medical Centre’s report, will not necessarily stop them. It did not matter in sodomy I.

The definition of a kangaroo court is a judicial proceeding that violates established legal procedures, the rights of the defendant are disregarded and his defence is restricted. Relevant evidence and witnesses are not allowed to be called, cross examination of witnesses controlled and irregularities ignored so as to render a fair trial impossible.

In the 1998 Anwar trial, judge Augustine Paul disallowed the defence of political conspiracy, allowed the case to proceed without medical evidence that the accuser had been sodomized. Augustine also allowed the charges to be changed midway, disallowed the defense’s attempt to introduce key evidence and witnesses as irrelevant, allowed faked DNA evidence to be expunged instead of throwing out the case out. This man even jailed one of the defence lawyers for contempt for bringing to the court’s attention fabricated evidence.I leave it to readers to judge if the above fulfils the definition of a kangaroo court. But in this present case, there is an anomaly in the charge which can be exploited by the defence team.

Anwar was charged for consensual sodomy under Section 377B of the Penal Code although his accuser has insisted publicly that he was forcibly sodomized and even swore to it in a mosque.Naturally, the prosecution wants to spare themselves the inconvenience of proving how a frail elderly man with a bad back can force himself on a strapping youth physically bigger and stronger than him. Hence, the charge under Section 377B. But you cannot have a charge for consensual sodomy and the main witness insisting that he was forcibly raped. So either the charge must be amended to Section 377C for forced sodomy or Saiful must declare in court that sodomy was consensual. If the charge and the accuser’s testimony cannot be reconciled then it must be thrown out.

As Saiful has sworn in a mosque that he was forcibly sodomized – a very serious action to Muslims indeed – and BN has made political capital of this at the Permatang Pauh by-election, the political fallout will be explosive to the Malay Muslim mind. So the prosecution faces a terrible dilemma, to try to prove the impossible or to engender a punishing political backlash which Umno may never recover in the staunchly religious Malay heartlands.Such a dilemma would never have occurred if the charge had been based on a true event instead of a fabricated one.

Aftermath

In the 1999 general election, the fallout from the Anwar case caused Umno’s Malay support to shrink to 49% from their normal baseline of 55%. BN was only saved by the non-Malays who swung to Umno on the back of PAS’ foolish proclamation to create an Islamic state which all but scuppered the nascent Barisan Alternatif coalition.

Given that the majority of non-Malays have swung back to Pakatan Rakyat on the expectation of more equitable racial treatment, such help from them to compensate another Malay swing out from Umno is unlikely. If the level of Malay support for Umno drops below 50% in the current political scenario, BN is likely to be wiped out in the Peninsula and even a clean sweep of East Malaysia cannot save them.

The political masters may have though that putting Anwar away will solve their problems but it could hasten their demise. The opposition coalition has grown beyond Anwar and no longer requires his personal participation to stay together.

A conviction of Anwar seen as unfair and a political hatchet job will energize the opposition and create so much public sympathy and disgust that PR will ride the wave to victory in the next general election. The perpetrators are tampering with powerful forces beyond their control. If they have nothing on Anwar it is best to swallow their pride and just drop the charges.

source: suara keadilan

UMNO wants Anwar out from the political scene. UMNO blames Anwar for their poor performances in the 2008 GE. The perpetrators believe that with their chokehold on the judiciary, prosecution and the police, Anwar will be convicted.

If Anwar is found guilty, it wont solves UMNO's problem but instead UMNO will face the wrath of the rakyat, thats why UMNO is courting PAS to shore up the Malay support.

I agree with Kenny Gan that that putting Anwar away might solve UMNO's problems, but it will also hasten UMNO's demise............

Unity government - Lets tell Muhyiddin to go and fly kite.......

Umno wants talks on a unity government to be sped up and asks PAS leaders to forget past conflicts in the interest of the unity of Muslims in the country.

DPM Muhyiddin Yassin said today he wanted the talks to materialise because he feared that if the matter was allowed to drag on, it would create disunity among the Muslims.

“We will not impose any conditions and we accept whatever terms set by PAS. As far as I’m concerned, we have to be open,” Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, told reporters after a special meeting with educationists at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Sok here.

The Umno deputy president urged PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat to forget about the conflicts between PAS and Umno in the 70s, when both parties cooperated to form the Kelantan state government which PAS later abandoned because of internal problems.

“As Muslims we are encouraged to forgive. That was in the past,” he said.

Why is Muhyiddin bulldozing the unity government issue? Is it because UMNO want to take advantage of the internal problem of PAS?

Lets tell Muhyiddin and UMNO to go and fly kite.......

Sodomi II - DSAI mohon buang tuduhan............

Meanwhile, Amer also told reporters that the prosecution has yet to supply the defence with documents and other materials linked to the case.

"All that was given was the chemistry report and the list of things that were confiscated (from Anwar)... the defence has asked for the original copy of the CCTV recording from the Desa Damansara condominium, which is vital to the defence of Anwar. These, however, have yet to be provided," said Amer.

"We were only given some blurred photographs and one video recording," he said adding that the defence has also requested for Saiful's DNA samples to be sent in for independent testing.

The prosecution, said Amer, must give a statement of favourable facts and evidence no less than four weeks before the trial begins as this is the policy of the AG's chambers.

The court is to hear the case beginning July 1.

Sebagai hamba Allah yang kerdil, saya hanya mampu berusaha, berdoa dan berserah sepenuhnya kepada Allah s.w.t sahaja, kerana Dialah yang Maha Adil lagi Maha Berkuasa.(Saiful Bukhari Azlan, the man who accused Anwar of sodomizing him, wrote on his blog that "if it is fated for this case to be dropped in a court of this world, it is all right." "I accept it because Allah's court will judge this matter" in the afterlife, he wrote.)

Eloklah Nasharuddin ikut contoh ustaz Nakhaei Ahmad masuk UMNO tak payahlah bawa PAS bersama.

Nizar - Got to rely on 5 minute oral judgement when filing an appeal.........

Bukit Gantang MP Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin today lamented that the Court of Appeal had yet to release its written judgement after reversing the High Court ruling that he was the legitimate Mentri Besar of Perak.

"Pakatan Rakyat is thus forced to submit an appeal to the Federal Court on the status of the Perak Mentri Besar based on the Court of Appeal's "five-minute oral judgment".

"The Court of Appeal had made a quick decision to reverse the High Court's ruling which found me to be the legitimate Mentri Besar.

"The Court of Appeal had promised to produce the written judgment in seven days after the hearing on May 22 and my lawyers had also sent three letters to get the written judgment so that we can file our appeal.

"(But) until today, we have not received anything and we have to submit our application latest tomorrow as the 30-day deadline for appealing to the Federal Court expires on Monday.

"How are we going to frame our questions without the written grounds of judgment? he asked, adding that PR would appreciate if the written grounds of judgment from the Court of Appeal had been produced quickly.

"I have difficulty reading what was in the minds of the (Court of Appeal) judges when they gave me a five-minute oral judgment," he told reporters in Parliament lobby today.

On allegations that his show of protest during his swearing-in ceremony as MP on Monday was an act of hooliganism, Nizar said: "There are more Barisan Nasional MPs who acted rowdy, including insulting their female colleagues.

"I had only chanted Hidup Rakyat (long live the people) Bubar DUN (dissolve the state assembly). Was that an act of hooliganism?" he asked.

source:the Sun

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Zaki Tun Azmi said that a judge who finds difficulty in making a decision as soon as possible is not a good judge.

He said one of the factors in considering the ability of a good judge was how up to date he was with his grounds of judgement, and trial judges should make their decisions as early as possible and thereafter write their grounds of judgement.

He said the delay whether in commencing a case, calling for defence, making the decision at the end of trial or writing grounds of judgement, may cause injustice.

So what do you call a judge who promise a written judgement after 7 days, suddenly failed to fulfill his promise?

Maybe, the judge couldnt come out with a concrete ground of judgment on the status of the Perak Mentri Besar case.

Nasharuddin, tak payah tidoq sebantal, dakap UMNO terus..........

Cadangan Tuan Guru tu bagus sekali. Since, Nasharuddin terlalu gian sangat nak bentuk kerajaan perpaduan, tak payahlah melibatkan PAS. Elok Nasharuddin mohon masuk UMNO terus.

UMNO nak tidoq sebantal, kena ajak PKR & DAP sekali.......

Sekarang giliran Najib pula mendendangkannya.

"Kita kena risik-risik dulu. Macam kita nak kahwinlah, kena risik-risik dulu. Jadi tak jadi, kita tengoklah. Takdir menentukan, apa bentuk kita tak tahu lagilah.

Meanwhile ,former PAS vice-president Husam Musa said that if Umno is so keen on pursing ‘unity talks’ with PAS, it should not contest in the upcoming Manek Urai by-election. “What is the point of having ‘unity talks’ and yet wanting to fight against us?”

“If Umno is sincere, the first thing they have to do is not contest against PAS (in Manek Urai). But I don’t believe Umno is ever sincere.

“If they are serious about ‘unity talks’, the onus is for the top leaders of both parties to work out a no-contest situation. If that cannot be done, how can the ‘unity talks’ resolve bigger issues?”

Betoikah Najib kata PAS ikhlas? Nampak Najib begitu teringin sangat nak PAS masuk BN untuk perkukukhkan kedudukan UMNO sebagai parti orang Melayu. PAS pula janganlah terperangkap dengan janji manis UMNO. Biaq pi seekoq dua barua yang ada...kalau depa nak sangat masuk UMNO biaq depa masuk saja.........

Adnan Yaakob dulu kini dan selama-lamanya..........

Zaid Ibrahim who recently joined PKR, was responding to Pahang Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob who alleged that the former law minister was corrupt. This is what he wrote in his blog........

Give sand get bridge, but we have been giving them water....

Lee Kuan Yew has expressed guarded optimism for future cooperation between Singapore and Malaysia, after four days of meetings with top leaders in Kuala Lumpur. He found members of the Malaysian Cabinet solidly behind Prime Minister Najib Razak's new policy of cooperation with Singapore.

Mr Lee impressed on the Malaysian leaders that such cooperation must be long-term and across the board as massive investments are involved.

The two iconic projects that Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Datuk Seri Najib agreed to cooperate on when they met in Singapore last month, are the Iskandar Malaysia economic zone and a third bridge from Changi to Desaru in east Johor.

The final balance of outcomes must also be fair on both sides, MM Lee said.

For Singapore, it does not make sense to cooperate on the third bridge if Johor does not lift its ban on the export of sand to the Republic, which has been in place since 1997, he said.

'The third bridge from Changi, it's for technical discussions. It does not make sense to us if at the same time, they punish us by making us barge sand from Vietnam.

'It's no benefit to them; it's just to cause us extra losses. So if it is cooperation, it must be across the board and the final balance must be fair on both sides and not just in specific, selective areas.'

source: the straits times

Najib thinks that building a third bridge on the eastern side of Johor is something worthwhile and Singapore is quite keen. According to Najib with the third bridge, Malaysia can develop the whole of eastern Johor up to Mersing and onwards to Desaru.

But,building this third bridge comes with a price, as Lee Kuan Yew put it, "you give us sand we will cooperate" And Najib must be a damn fool if he agrees.

Najib must play his card well not to be fooled by the Singaporeans, unless big Mama gives her blessing its another story to tell.

Johor provides 350 million gallons of water per day to Singapore at $0.007 per 1000 gallons, while Singapore has to resell a minimum 17 million gallons per day of treated water to Johor at $0.13 per 1000 gallons.

Kerajaan perpaduan - Hadi letak syarat;Tok Guru pula menyifat mereka 'boneka UMNO'.........
