Bos MARA tahu pasai skandal, tapi buat2 dont know...

STRUKTUR SYARIKAT MARA INC MEMUDAHKAN PENYELEWENGAN, TAN SRI ANUAR MUSA MELAWAT HARTANAH

National Oversight & Whistleblowers (NOW) merujuk kepada kenyataan-kenyataan Tan Sri Anuar Musa kebelakangan ini mengenai skandal pembelian hartanah oleh MARA Inc; seperti berikut:

PKR MP for Pandan Rafizi Ramli reveals a copy of an internal Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) briefing document that shows more than one piece of private property was bought in Australia and questions why so much effort was made to hide its purchases.

Annuar, we have copy of internal briefing...

Mara chairperson Annuar Musa’s supposed inaction over the purchase of four properties in Melbourne, Australia, has yet again been questioned, this time by PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli.

Annuar should have launched an investigation immediately after his official visit to Melbourne on May 20 last year, instead of just two months ago, Rafizi, who is the MP for Pandan, said today.

Quoting “insiders” at a briefing purportedly attended by Annuar in Melbourne, Rafizi said it was revealed that the purchase of the four properties had involved seven companies incorporated in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), Labuan, Singapore and Australia.

These companies acted as as layers of intermediaries for Mara Incorporated Sdn Bhd, which Rafizi (photo) said should have aroused suspicion.

“From this information, it is clear that the property purchases were structured to hide them from public knowledge by using offshore companies in the BVI, or through layers of companies registered in different countries, to separate them from Mara Inc.

“The use of these different companies should not only arouse suspicion, for it has also chalked up large management and administrative costs to Mara,” Rafizi, who heads the NGO National Oversight and Whistleblowers (NOW), told a press conference.

'Fully shrouded in secrecy'

Citing presentation slides supposedly presented at the briefing, Rafizi said the Mara Inc has full ownership of one intermediary based in the BVI, through which it owns a property at 746, Swanston Street, and the student flats at Dudley International House.

"Using a BVI company means all the financial and operational procedures about the company are fully shrouded in secrecy and not available in public searches," he said.

Mara also allegedly has full ownership of another two companies based in Labuan. Each of these two companies wholly own a separate company in Singapore, and each, in turn, wholly owns an Australian company.

One of these Australian companies has direct and full ownership of the property at 333, Exhibition Street, while the other company has the same for the property at 51, Queen Street.

To a question, Rafizi told Malaysiakini after the press conference that he was provided with the information and slides by a whistleblower last week.

He said the information he was given is corroborated information that is already publically available.

Mara's properties in Melbourne have been under the spotlight over the past week after Australian newspapers reported that Mara had purchased the Dudley House property at an inflated price.

The excess money from the purchase, amounting to A$4.75 million (RM13.7 million), was then allegedly laundered out of Australia to pay Malaysian officials as kickbacks.

More to come from Rafizi

The Australian federal police have launched raids in Melbourne to seize evidence of the supposed corruption, while Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has promised a full investigation.

At a press conference last Wednesday, Annuar had said that Mara was not aware of any kickbacks and as far as it is concerned, it had purchased the property below market value and it is making money above projections

While pledging full cooperation with investigations, he said Mara Inc has seven days to report the Mara Council regarding the allegations.

The deadline expires tomorrow, and the Mara council will wait till next week to decide what to do with its investment arm and its chairperson Mohammad Lan Allani, who have been implicated in the deal.

Rafizi also  told reporters that he would be revealing more of alleged improprieties in Mara’s Melbourne property deals at another press conference tomorrow, this time focusing on whether the properties have generated sufficient returns on Mara’s investment.

When contacted later, Annuar told Malaysiakini that Rafizi's revelations were stale, and that he was sure that the investigating authorities were already aware of the situation. - mk

Dr M: 'Tampered' 1MDB info claim a ruse...

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad has dismissed suggestions that 1MDB's critics owe Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak an apology following the arrest of a former executive in PetroSaudi International Ltd.

Mahathir said that the fundamental issue surrounding 1MDB's controversial joint-venture with PetroSaudi was the return of USD1.9 billion in funds after the deal went sour.

In a posting on his blog today, Mahathir said Najib had told Parliament that 1MDB had loaned USD1.9 billion to PetroSaudi's subsidiary to reduce the risk on its equity holding.

"Giving a loan to a JV(Joint Venture)partner who was found unsuitable as a JV partner would increase the risk, not reduce it.

"When the JV was dissolved after only 6 months of its formation, it must be because 1MDB realised that the venture was bad.

"What it should do is to demand the equity and the loan amounting to US1.9 billion be returned. Instead it was converted into a loan (murabahah).

"Having given this US1.9 billion loan, where is the money now?" asked Mahathir.

Tampered? So what?

Thus far, the government has suggested that the money was first parked in the Cayman Islands before it was transferred to BSI Singapore.

However, 1MDB and Putrajaya had described what was being held in BSI Singapore was "units", without further elaboration.

This had been the focus of 1MDB critics, including Mahathir, in recent months.

Recently, the arrest of former PetroSaudi executive Xavier Andre Justo by Thai authorities had led to Putrajaya claiming that criticisms against 1MDB stemmed from "tampered" documents supplied by the rogue former employee.

Details of how the documents were "tampered" have not been made public. The Thai police have made no mention of "tampered" documents and are investigating Justo for blackmailing PetroSaudi.

Regardless of whether Justo had peddled tampered PetroSaudi's documents, Mahathir stressed that the fact that 1MDB loaned USD1.9 billion to its former JV partner remains.

"And after that the investment and the loan of USD700 million was converted to a loan to a partner you (1MDB) no longer believe could deliver through the JV.

"You had some direct control over a JV, but not over the borrower.

"So what has all this to do with Justo blackmailing Petro Saudi: Nothing."

Chain of events

The JV with PetroSaudi was the first deal undertaken by 1MDB back in 2009, after Putrajaya tookover the company from the Terengganu government.

In August 2009, government guarantee bonds were issued to raise RM5 billion and RM3.5 billion was used to enter a JV with PetroSaudi in September.

After the JV was called off six months later, 1MDB's equity stake was converted into a murabahah notes which was valued higher than their initial investment.

Critics have been asking Putrajaya to explain where the money went, in light of leaked PetroSaudi emails pointing to USD700 million being transferred to a company known as Good Star Ltd, which is based in Hong Kong.

Good Star Ltd is controlled by Jho Low, one of Najib's family friends.

The USD700 million was transferred on September 30, 2009 - one day after the JV was sealed. - mk

Dr M: Apa kena-mengena tangkapan Justo?

Hentikan tragedi Greek 1Malaysia sekarang,Najib

People line up to withdraw cash from an automated teller machine on the island of Crete.
Greece - So what exactly is the problem...

This week begins with Greece about to default on its debts, its banks closed indefinitely as citizens panic and rush to withdraw their euros. Next Sunday the people vote on whether to accept the terms of a rescue package offered by Europe, which outlines more cuts to pay and pensions and imposes some steep tax rises.

The result could determine Greece's future in the euro zone and even in the European Union. It will send financial and political shockwaves around the world. The Greeks sent their new government to Brussels with an ultimatum to get the country a better deal, not just a general mandate to 'give it another go' then settle for more austerity policies such as cuts to pensions, wages and public sector jobs.

Basically, Greece was hit hard by the financial crisis, and since then it has borrowed a lot of money that it says it can't pay back – at least not yet. According to calculations by Reuters, it owes its official lenders 242.8 billion euros, with Germany its biggest creditor.

The lenders include the IMF (International Monetary Fund), the ECB (European Central Bank) and the Euro zone governments. Many of the loans don't mature for years, even decades.

However some do. In particular, Greece was due to pay 1.6 billion euros to the IMF by the end of June in overdue interest. After that, 3.5 billion is due to the ECB on July 20, and another 3.2 billion in August. On top of that, more than 8 billion euros in short-term bills are due over the next two months.

Greece says it has scraped together all the money it can to pay its debts – it even called in cash reserves from councils, hospitals and other public bodies. It says that, to pay the money owed, it would have had to stop paying money into pensions and public wages – which it refuses to do.

What happens if Greece doesn't get the rescue money?

Barring further surprises, it will default on at least some of its debts. Sovereign default does have precedents, but it always comes with major economic upheaval. Though the consequences of that are long-term (difficulty finding lenders willing to invest in the country), there will be immediate side-effects.

After months of massive withdrawals, fearing this very crisis, Greece's banks are surviving on emergency credit from the European Central Bank. Without that, they have had to impose capital controls to stop any more money going out.

Greek people will have less money they are able to spend. Business will be unable to invest. The economy will head into recession.

So far the Greek government has refused to countenance 'Grexit'. However if no new rescue deal is negotiated, Greece would have to supply the banks with money itself, or they will collapse. But the government has no money. The only obvious solution is to start printing new money to get cash back into the economy.

This 'new drachma' would effectively mean Greece has left the euro – at least temporarily. The 'new drachma', even if it began on parity with the euro, would quickly lose up to half its value. Essentially, the value of everything in the country would be halved.

There will be high inflation, and the new exchange rate would make imports much more expensive. Life will get even harder for ordinary Greeks and Greek businesses.

On the other hand, some economists say it would stimulate the local economy and, in the long run, leave the country stronger. There is fierce disagreement over this view.

Why would the Greek people possibly want this?

They are sick of austerity. Unemployment has sky-rocketed, wages halved, pensions were slashed, public bodies like hospitals, schools and universities starved of funds.

Many no longer believe that austerity is just a necessary, temporary measure to put the country back on its feet. They believe it is wrecking their economy and their lives. They are willing to take a risk and try something else.

How will all this affect other countries?

The euro is already tumbling on international markets. If Greece defaults it leaves many of its neighbours short. Germany is owed 57 billion euros, France 43 billion, Italy 38 billion and Spain 25 billion – on top of those countries' contributions to the IMF loans.

The loans don't mature for almost 30 years, there is almost no interest on them and some of the loans came with a 10-year moratorium on interest payments, so it's not like the countries need the money back immediately. However it's still a lot to have to take off the bottom line.

Confidence in Europe, and the euro, has been profoundly shaken. Eyes will turn to the continent's other weak economies such as Portugal, Spain and Italy. They may start to lose capital and investment.

Is it just an economic problem?

No.

This could also drastically change the political balance in Europe. If Syriza makes a success out of splitting Greece away from the rest of the continent, it will embolden other nationalistic parties such as the National Front in France or UKIP in the UK.

Future elections in Europe could see a surge in nationalism, a rejection of the European project, potentially enough to threaten Europe's stability as a political union. Speaking of which, the UK is in the early stages of debate on a referendum on whether to stay in Europe, next year. If Europe is a basket case this time next year, public opinion (currently in favour of staying in) may drastically change.

Then there is the question of Russia. Syriza has already made overtures to the Kremlin, with Tsipras a star speaker at Putin's recent big international summit in St Petersburg. If Russia comes to Greece's aid, with money, other support (or both), it will be a new factor in the current Cold War-like tensions between east and west.

Greece has already expressed its anger at Europe and NATO for not doing enough in its regular chest-bumping with Turkey. If Russian warships find a friendly berth in Greek ports, the strategic map of Europe is drastically redrawn.

What happens next?

The next set-piece is a referendum on Sunday, in which Greece votes to accept or reject the terms of the rescue deal most recently proffered in Brussels. Between now and then, of course, anything could happen. If the referendum takes place, and is a 'no', then Grexit appears all but inevitable.

On the other hand if it is a 'yes', then the Syriza government has effectively lost power. It will return to Brussels and hope that the deal is still on the table – which is not guaranteed. And after that, the country will probably pretty quickly go back to the polls to find a new government. - the age

107 MPs in hand,10 more sought for no confidence vote...

Support of 107 MPs in hand, 10 more sought for no confidence vote...

Prime Minister Najib Razak's announcement of delaying the Umno party elections by 18 months has set in motion a frenzy of activity by his rivals, who aim to topple him 'before the end of this year'.

The anti-Najib faction in Umno drew first blood when Johor youth leader Khairul Anwar Rahmat resigned from all posts, citing personal reasons.

"The entire country knows apart from the charges (of conspiring with former premier Mahathir Mohamad to embarrass Najib), Khairul also recently supported the Johor Crown Prince who had urged leaders to put the interests of the people first and not the ideology of the party," wrote former minister Zainuddin Maidin in a blog posting that warned of greater turmoil with more Johor leaders poised to resign their posts in sympathy with Khairul.

Kalimullah 'eye-opener'

Khairul's move also drew a response from former NST group editor-in-chief Kalimullah Khairul Hassan - a well-known supporter of another former prime minister, Abdullah Badawi.

"A brave decision. Wish there were more like him in BN," Kalimullah posted on Twitter.

Although Badawi's quiet style is in contrast with the feisty Mahathir's, he is still an influential power-broker in Umno with son-in-law Khairy Jamaluddin the national Umno Youth Chief.

While Khairy has made sure to shout out his support for Najib, there are many in Umno who cite the phrase 'still waters run deep' when describing his loyalty to his boss.

Even Home Minister Zahid Hamidi may not stand behind Najib if the furore over the RM42 billion 1MDB financial scandal worsens, they add.

So far within Najib's Cabinet, his deputy Muhyiddin Yassin and Sabah minister Shafie Apdal have openly criticized 1MDB - Najib's brainchild sovereign fund accused of 'losing' RM28 billion of public money.

Will Ku Li rise to the ocassion or FLOP AGAIN - 107 MPs in hand, another 10 to go

Meanwhile, within the Umno faction loyal to Kelantan prince Tengku Razaleigh, confidence is rising that he can finally become PM after a near three-decades wait.

Political insiders tel Malaysia Chronicle, the anti-Najib camp now holds the support of 107 Members of Parliament and are working hard to get another 10 - more than the 6 required, so as to ensure a 'rock solid' ouster.

"The pressure is now on Ku Li. He has been too soft and slow. There is already agreement from the anti-Najib factions in Umno and support from the Opposition for him to be caretaker PM once the no-confidence vote is successfully made," the political source said.

"But Ku Li need to do more - he is too low-profile and too cautious. Time is of essence because with the Umno polls postponed by 18 months, Najib will 'kill off' all his opponents by blocking them from contesting in any seat. His detractors must act fast when the upper hand is so near within reach. Or they will lose it all."

There are 222 seats in Malaysia's federal Parliament and only a simple majority is needed to oust Najib.

UMNO had just announced the postponement of its party election from late-2016 to mid-2018 on Friday.

Civil war in Umno to escalate - Sabah & Johor will be rocked

According to DAP MP for Kluang Liew Ching Tong, the move means that:

'Firstly, Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Razak will cling on to the position of Prime Minister as long as he can.

'UMNO leaders will have to go along with the fact that Najib will be Prime Minister well into the next general election or Najib would only be removed in a very drastic and dramatic manner such as a no-confidence vote in Parliament with a significant number of UMNO MPs crossing the floor.'

'Secondly, after delaying the party polls, Najib will likely embark on a cabinet reshuffle as those who would be dropped would not be able to challenge him in the party election, and they would be dropped as candidates for the general election anyway. Their political careers will be ended before they could fight back in the now postponed party polls.'

'Ministers to be excluded from the next cabinet are likely to be Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Sabahan Shafie Apdal.'

Najib will look for quick kill

'Thirdly, elections could be much earlier than 2018. As long as Najib is sure of victory in the general elections he would by now prefer an earlier election to get rid of dissidents in UMNO and to get more loyalists to contest in the general election.'

'It is now clear to many that if Najib continues to lead UMNO into the next general election, UMNO is at risk of losing power altogether as the Najib brand is by now totally discredited in the various scandals. The longer Najib leads UMNO, the more likely it is that he would drag UMNO with him.'

'There is a huge political vacuum in Malaysian politics that Malaysians of all ethnic groups from all parts of the country are looking for new leadership.'

'Further, with UMNO clinging on to power, a split in UMNO is inevitable. The split will be felt keenly in Johor and Sabah with the potential sackings of Muhyiddin and Shafie from the Cabinet.'

'The DAP must present itself as the party of choice for all in the current state of flux and provide leadership for a nation desperate to move on.' -

hadi-awang-hudud-pas
Hadi panggil penentang hudud ‘anjing’...

Turut hadir Timbalan Presiden Pas Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, Naib Presiden Pas Idris Ahmad, Ketua Penerangan Pas Pusat Nasrudin Hassan Tantawi dan barisan kepimpinan Pas negeri Pulau Pinang.

"Mudahnya memerintah Malaysia," katanya.

Not all the mosques can wash your sins,
Najib & 1MDB told...

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak was today taken to task for lamenting the criticism against 1MDB despite the company's contributions to Islam such as the construction of a mosque in Kampung Baru.

PAS' Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar said Najib's statement was akin to asking Muslims to let slide any possible wrongdoing by 1MDB simply because it had done some good.

"It gives the wrong message to the rakyat that as if they can do wrong and sin as much as they like and then wash them away by giving some alms or going for hajj (pilgrimage).

"This is what is happening with 1MDB which management is being plagued by (alleged) misappropriation over RM42 billion of its debt and then trying to wash them away by building a mosque and bringing imams to hajj," he said in a statement today.

Calling such a mentality by the prime minister "dangerous", Mahfuz sarcastically said that it would be easy to rule the country is this held true.

"After this, people can rob as much as they like and then the robbers can make a contribution to the mosque, case closed," he said.

Stop playing on sentimental emotions

On a serious note, Mahfuz said such mentality explained the lack of commitment in enforcing laws against misappropriation in managing the country's finances.

"To the prime minister, stop playing on sentimental emotions during the month of Ramadan to cover up the questions surrounding 1MDB that are yet to be answered," he said.

Yesterday, Najib who visited the mosque in Kampung Baru said 1MDB, through its charitable foundation, had contributed much to Muslims including the building of the mosque he was in.

His remarks came amid calls for him to step down over his handling of 1MDB, which is owned by the Finance Ministry, a portfolio led by him.

1MDB, which had accumulated a debt of RM41.8 billion, has been struggling to repay them. - mk

Buat Salah Dapat Pampasan...

http://upload.hbtv.com.cn/2012/0829/1346232923666.jpg

Melainkan XAJ ni sangat pandai bila dia buat kontrak perjawatan dengan PSI dia letakkan syarat dibayar pampasan kalau dia disuruh berhenti.

- A.Kadir Jasin

Was Xavier paid RM15mil to shut him up...

Former PetroSaudi International (PSI) staff Xavier Andre Justo may have been paraded in government-controlled media as a criminal for leaking information belonging to his former employer, but why was he paid some RM15 million to begin with?

This was a question raised by veteran newsman A Kadir Jasin, who is seen as a close ally to former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

He was referring to a report that Xavier was given RM15 million when he left PSI after supposedly breaching the law.

"Logically, any staff who have violated the law or rules, would be sacked without compensation and if there are criminal elements, a police report would be made.

"But Xavier who was accused of breaching the law and rules was given RM15.51 million in compensation," said Kadir (photo) in a blog posting today.

Kadir expressed puzzlement whether Arab companies gave out lucrative compensation for staff who breached the law.

"Or was Xavier paid RM15.51 million for him to shut up?" said Kadir.

Xavier, who had received the compensation, allegedly demanded for another RM10 million in exchange for not leaking information belonging to PSI to third parties.

This information subsequently found its way to whistleblower portal Sarawak Report.

Arrested on grounds of blackmail

PSI's leaked information, which included its communications with 1MDB, had put the latter in a spot as it revealed questionable fund transfers to a company allegedly controlled by Malaysian billionaire Jho Low, who is close to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's (photo) family.

PSI subsequently lodged a police report against him and Xavier was on Monday arrested in Thailand on grounds of blackmail.

Malaysian authorities claimed Xavier had tampered with the information given to Sarawak Report to put 1MDB in bad light.

This was based on an analysis by Protection Group International, which was hired by PSI to investigate the leak.

Both 1MDB and PSI had not denied the allegations made by Sarawak Report based on the leaked data but merely insisted they were based on "tampered" evidence.

Sarawak Report had challenged PSI and 1MDB to sue the portal if its reports were untrue.- mk

"It's All Lies About Xavier"...

Two days after Umno-linked New Straits Times painted Xavier Andre Justo as a "hedonistic" and "greedy" man with a photograph of him covered in tatoos on its front page, Sarawak Report today sought to give another human face to him.

Sarawak Report, which spoke to Justo's friends in Switzerland, said his family was distraught at the "terrible injustice" to make him a "scapegoat" over Malaysia's billion-dollar scandal and the "orchestrated" defamation against him.

Justo, a former staff of PetroSaudi International (PetroSaudi), was arrested in Thailand on Monday for allegedly blackmailing his former employer using information he purportedly stole from the company.

PetroSaudi's leaked information, which included its communications with 1MDB, had put the latter in a spot as it revealed questionable fund transfers to a company allegedly controlled by Malaysian billionaire Jho Low, who is close to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s family.

Sarawak Report, which published the leak, said Justo's family and friends are unwilling to speak publicly due to legal advice but are confident that he will come out innocent.

The report added that Justo's wife and nine-month-old baby were due to return after a holiday in Switzerland.

“Reading some of the Malaysian newspapers and the awful things they have said about her husband has made this experience so much worse for Mrs Justo and all his relatives and friends, because we know Xavier and we know these smears about his character could not be further from the truth.

“They were just trying to make a home and a life for their new family in Thailand. - mk

Tangan Najib yang tatak ong...

najib,malang
Tangan Najib bawa malang...

“FGV ibarat berniaga buluh kasap, hujung hilang pangkal lesap.

1MDB - Tunjuk emel asal kalau jantan...

Tunjuk emel asal kalau jantan, Tony Pua cabar 1MDB, PetroSaudi...

– tmi

Mahathir - Penangkapan Justo sangat mencurigakan...

Kenapa tak saman saja The Edge dan Sarawak Report, soal Dr Mahathir

Dr M smells a rat in Justo's arrest...

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohammad said the arrest of former PetroSaudi International Ltd director in Thailand yesterday was highly suspicious, akin to a high level conspiracy.

Mahathir said he didn't see why a tourist to Thailand should be arrested for a crime allegedly done in Saudi Arabia without any extradition request from the kingdom.

"Maybe because he is a terrorist, that's why he was arrested by Thailand. If he was only stealing company secret, he won't have to be arrested.

"This man came to Thailand obviously as a tourist unless Saudi Arabia request Thailand to arrest him, I don't see why Thailand should arrest him," he told reporters after a function in Kuala Lumpur today.

According to international media reports, Swiss national Xavier Andrea Justo was arrested in Koh Samui, a Thai resort island, on Monday for attempting to extort 2.5 million Swiss francs (US$2.7 million) from London-based PetroSaudi International Ltd.

Justo was alleged to have used stolen confidential company information as leverage.

Mahathir dismissed the arrest as the latest attempt to cover up for 1MDB's dealings with PetroSaudi.

Work of clever propagandists

He alluded that the media circus surrounding Justo's arrest may also be an attempt to discredit his criticisms of Putrajaya's handling of the 1MDB controversy.

"I will (have to) see what (the Thai authorities find out). But the circumstances of the arrest is suspicious. It's like there was planning by very intelligent people.

"I dont know, we are finding some very clever propagandist (are operating , now my face is blackened already and my legacy destroyed," he said.

Following reports on Justo's arrest, Putrajaya appear to have adopted a narrative which described the Swiss national as a disgruntled PetroSaudi employee who peddled "tampered" company information to whistleblower website Sarawak Report.

This information, including email communication and Blackberry Messenger chat logs, published by Sarawak Report were then used by some Malaysia media organisations in their reports which were critical of 1MDB's business decisions.

The basis of this narrative appear to stem from a New Straits Times report, which quoted an anonymous source from London-based cyber-forensics firm Protection Group International (PGI) claiming that they have evidence that the information was indeed tampered.

Trapped in lies

1MDB itself has also issued a statement claiming that the information published by Sarawak Report was tampered with.

However, Mahathir dismissed such claims, stressing that any form of clarification coming from 1MDB had always been ambigous.

"It is not clear. It is wrong. Now they are talking about email. Emails cannot be altered once it is sent through the phone. The receiver will (get it as it is).

"You saw (what happened) in the United States. They even tapped the French president's email. Now they claim the emails were altered.

"If we look at the sequence, it was not altered," said Mahathir, who stressed that the narrative that followed Justo's arrest appeared to be a cover up attempt.

"When we lie, we will be trapped when we try to extend the lie. It will be hard to make it fit with the original lie," he said. - mk

Hands off Pua, PAC boss tells Shafee...

Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairperson Nur Jazlan Mohamad has told Umno-linked lawyer Shafee Abdullah not to meddle in the committee's work.

Speaking to Malaysiakini, he said Shafee had no right to call for Pua to resign from the committee for being too critical of 1MDB.

"He (Shafee) doesn't have the right to tell off PAC members who are members of the legislature, the third branch of the government and elected by the people," he said.

Nur Jazlan added Pua had never used PAC information in his statements, and actually highlighted important matters regarding 1MDB.

"I personally think he has helped to highlight the issue on 1MDB which the majority of Malaysians today believe the PAC will dismiss the issue in favour of the government. We are working well as a team

"As far as I am concerned he has not used any information obtained from PAC hearings from 1MDB in his statements.

"Whatever information he uses in his statements are obtained from parliamentary answers and other sources," he said.

This is not a court of law

Shafee had said that Pua's resignation would ensure the PAC probe on 1MDB was fair.

"Pua as a PAC member issues too many statements that can affect the probe towards the company.

"As such I propose that he steps down from the PAC to restore public confidence, that the 1MDB inquiry is fair and transparent," he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian.

"PAC members, including Pua, should act like judges in this case, and not make accusations and public statements about it. If they want to make statements like that, it is better to be a case witness," he added.

Jazlan however reminded Shafee that the PAC was not a court of law.

"The PAC is not a court of law created by statute but it is a body that represents the voice of the country," he said, adding PAC can help clear negative public perceptions towards 1MDB based case facts.

Pua, who is also Petaling Jaya Utara MP, has been an ardent critic of the debt-ridden investment firm, and frequently raises the topic in and out of Parliament.

Previously, 1MDB president Arul Kanda also reminded Pua that he is a member of PAC and expressed hope of getting a fair hearing.

This follow Pua's highly critical public remarks against 1MDB, including calling Arul a "liar extraordinaire".

Meanwhile, BN Backbenchers Club chairperson Shahrir Abdul Samad had urged Nur Jazlan to consider Shafee's remarks and drop Pua from the probe.

He said since Pua knows a lot about the firm, he should be a witnesses instead of being part of the team investigating 1MDB. - mk

Penangkapan Justo Cubaan Najib Memalukan Mahathir...

- NPR

The Arrest in Thailand does not exonerate 1MDB...

The 1MDB people and the mindless trolls and mental gnomes, who are perhaps on the payroll of Najib’s people, are celebrating.

The arrest of a Swiss citizen in Thailand, one Mr Justo is the source of the euphoric premature ejaculation of smirk and merrymaking.

See, they claimed- Sarawak Report, The Edge and those public spirited individuals have been feasting on tampered documents after all. They have been spinning untruths. Dr Mahathir lied. Remove his banner at PWTC.

We must be careful here- what did Mr Justo blackmail PSI on?- one can only blackmail if the party affected has actually done something wrong. secondly, what is the nature of the temperance? did the temperance go to the root of the matter and therefore destroy the integrity of the information? and did Sarawak report base its investigation on adulterated material?

The arrest of Mr Justo is irrelevant to the fact that 1MDB is a bloody scam to steal money from Malaysia. WE must not get sidetracked by this episode which may be sponsored by PSI anyway.

And Ahmad Maslan, Chief Propagandist of UMNO, was quick off the mark, exhorting UMNO members not to believe the social media- now that it is a known fact, that the social media has been publishing from adulterated sources.  But UMNO members Herr Maslan, read only Utusan Malaysia where spinning stories is their raison d'etre

As to his spirited suggestion  that the social media derives information from the now known fact- we must say, not so Herr Maslan- that has not been established.

The social media didn't know of the existence of this individual until Petro Saudi International alerted the Thai Police to arrest him.  For all you know, PSI did a rat on this poor fellow asking him to RNR in Thailand and alerting the Police to arrest him.

That single clutch of straw was enough to send the Najib fan club into a frenzy. The PM we loved has been speaking the truth. Long live emperor Najib.

The problem is- the substance of the leaked documents were also accepted by and corroborated by the various accounting and auditing firms employed by 1MDB at one point or another. Many of them saw, got scared and left. The material from the audited reports gave life to the social media, not one Mr Justo.

So 1MDB and Petrosaudi can crow any how they want, the arrest of that individual, on whatever grounds yet to be established- does not destroy the heart of the matter. Which is, Petrosaudi defrauded Malaysians through 1MDB and plunged the nation into debt of RM46 billion or more.

It is pathetic to see the 1MDB people rushing to use the arrest of an individual to clear itself from the 1MDB scandal. Nothing is cleared yet.

Najib has still got to answer about 1MDB. The arrest of an individual who is of Swiss national has done nothing to exonerate anyone.

The illegal things that he was alleged to have done were reported by a private investigation team. They will themselves be questioned in court to explain how they came to the conclusion that this individual has blackmailed and was discovered to have passed on tampered information to others regarding 1MDB.

This whole incident looked like a contrived effort to dig up some dirt, any dirt, on anybody, maybe even from a ‘plant’ just to discredit the revelation on 1MDB. The ‘plant’ then, when arrested will sing like a canary using scripted lines.

I hope we are not over excited about the arrest of an individual by the Thai authorities who is cited as the source who gave tampered but not incorrect information on 1MDB.

The thieving Arabs were quick to welcome the arrest of Justo and that it would fully co-operate with Thai authorities. “We are considering further legal action in other jurisdictions.

My answer and challenge is- Please don’t just consider, but do so through the courts so that much more will be revealed. Just don’t bring the legal action in Malaysian courts. The complexities of the fraud may be too overwhelming on our courts.

“We are relieved that Mr Justo will now face justice through the courts. To face justice for what? For blackmailing and tampering with documents?

“We have been the victims of a regrettable crime that has unfortunately been politicised in Malaysia,” a PetroSaudi spokesperson said.

Wrong the victims are us Malaysians- Petrosaudi has cheated Malaysians into getting itself sucked into a debt whirlpool of RM46 billion. And it was all started by PetroSaudi when it conspired to channel more than USD1 billion into an account of one of its conspirators.

Don’t try to act saintly and innocent.

The chap may have done some illegal things which may have nothing to do with the expose on what Petrosaudi  did to 1MDB.

The material reported by the accounting firms was also the same. Which part was tampered? This temperance is not yet verified and ascertained by an independent body. It’s just a suggestion given by a paid investigation team out to discredit the person but will not be able to disturb the substance of the scandal on 1MDB.

So why is the Home minister rushing ahead and warning the Edge against spinning tampered documents? How sure is he that the alleged temperance has destroyed the credibility of the vile things done by 1MDB? Or is his outburst just a reflection of his wishful thinking that this nightmare called 1MDB will just go away.

Does the Home Minister understand the complex issues of 1MDB or is he just flexing his home minister’s muscles?  Zahid may be the Home minister but all of us in parliament knows he has no substance and that deficiency is hidden by a show of macho-ness and bravado.

When he gets irritated and when he cannot answer, his body language is that of a delinquent asking you to fight. His eyes will be blinking uncontrollably when he is overcome by his emotions. He will shift from facing you frontally to position himself in a profile-like manner as though preparing to go airborne and do a Bruce Lee flying kick, but let’s not get over the top about Zahid Hamidi.

Please don’t intimidate The Edge or any public spirited individuals in Malaysia. The Edge and others have a duty to publish and make public whatever material they have and obtained in good faith and the matter regarding 1mdb is of public interest.

The 1mdb people appear to have anticipated the arrest and gave out exuberant statements alluding that all this while, this chap gave doctored documents only to discredit our beloved pirate-DNAed PM.

On that point, I hope those politicians harbouring the fanciful idea that lets allow Najib to lead BN at the next elections because he is so weak that he can easily be defeated will get real.

Well, this is an example of what he can do. He has control over the media complex, has huge war chest, has resources and can easily come out with a creative solution to throw a spanner in the works. Just this arrest, has caused confusion and doubts and encouraged the village idiots to come out and clean up Najib’s tarnished image.

Fortunately, the toilet cleaners can’t clean Najib anymore. He is too soiled.

Folks, 1MDB is still the agent that has caused us to incur a debt of RM46 billion or even more. We don’t know the integrity of this fellow arrested by the Thai authorities. The Thais have said nothing about 1MDB being asked to cooperate.

And I see the cyber trolls have congregated at some portals and gave mindless comments befitting the metal retards. Every one of them says now the people defending 1MDB were telling the truth.

The response by the critics of 1mdb- when you stop telling lies, we will stop telling the truth. - Dato' Mohd.Ariff Sabri bin Hj. Abdul Aziz@sakmongkol ak47.
